FastXY is developed and operated by Digital Mapping Group, a division of Discovery Management Group ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the FastXY mobile application (available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store) and the FastXY web platform at fastxy.com.
By using FastXY, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app and services.
Information We Collect
Account Information (Stored on Our Servers)
When you create an account or start a free trial, the following information is collected and stored by our Single Sign-On (SSO) identity provider:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Authentication credentials
We also store subscription and trial status information on our servers to manage your access to premium features.
Geospatial and Survey Data (Stored on Your Device Only)
FastXY is a professional geospatial data collection tool. All geospatial and survey data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. This includes:
- GPS/GNSS coordinates and positional data from your device or connected receivers
- Survey points, lines, and polygon data you create
- Field notes, descriptions, and metadata associated with collected features
- Photos and media attached to survey points
- Project and workflow configurations
- NTRIP connection information for RTK corrections
Because this data never leaves your device, we have no access to it and cannot recover it if lost. You are responsible for managing and backing up your own geospatial data.
Device and Usage Information
We may automatically collect:
- Device type, operating system, and version
- App version
- General usage analytics (e.g., feature usage, crash reports)
- IP address
How We Use Your Information
We use the information stored on our servers to:
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Process and manage your subscription and trial status
- Provide customer support
- Send important service-related communications (e.g., account verification, subscription changes)
- Monitor and improve app performance and stability
- Comply with legal obligations
Data Storage and Security
Your account and subscription information is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your information. Authentication is managed through a secure Single Sign-On (SSO) identity provider.
All geospatial and survey data remains on your device and is never sent to our servers. The security of this on-device data is managed by your device's operating system and security settings.
While we take reasonable precautions for server-stored data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not have access to your geospatial data as it is stored exclusively on your device.
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist in operating our platform (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing), bound by data protection agreements
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights
Data Retention
We retain server-stored data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:
- Account information (name, email, credentials) is retained while your account exists and deleted upon account deletion request
- Subscription and trial information is retained while your account exists and deleted upon account deletion request
- Billing and transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years after account deletion as required for tax and legal compliance
- Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form that cannot be linked back to you
- Geospatial and survey data is stored only on your device and is not retained by us at any time
Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your FastXY account and associated data at any time. To request account deletion, follow these steps:
Send a deletion request
Email us at support@fastxy.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Include the email address associated with your FastXY account.
Identity verification
We will verify your identity to ensure the request is authorized. You must send the request from the email address associated with your account, or provide sufficient information to verify ownership.
Processing
We will process your deletion request within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.
What is deleted from our servers when your account is removed:
- Your account profile (first name, last name, email) and login credentials
- Subscription and trial information
Geospatial and survey data, project configurations, photos, NTRIP settings, and all other work data is stored only on your device and is not affected by account deletion on our servers. This data remains on your device unless you delete it yourself.
What may be retained after account deletion:
- Billing and transaction records — retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance
- Anonymized analytics data — aggregate usage data that cannot be linked back to you
- Legal hold data — if required by law enforcement or ongoing legal proceedings
Please note: account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. We recommend exporting any data you wish to keep before submitting a deletion request.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (see above)
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of FastXY after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
